Today we saw some historic sites and the prairie. First, we visited an old town and saw a restored mill (first picture group below) then we looked around some of the historic town (second group of pictures) after that, we went to the tallgrass prairie national preserve (third picture (of stamp) below). We then went to the konza prairie overlook (my mom's idea) and took some (rather booring) photos (final picture group, below). Then, finally we (k)camped at yet another KOA (they're everywhere!)
Today we reached Kansas and went to the prairie museum in Colby (pictures below) and saw a restored neighborhood of the pioneers.we are camping (kamping ;) ) at another KOA in Salina, Kansas
Yesterday we went past the great Colorado wildfire (you may of heard about it in the news) although we did not go to the actively burning part, the smoke was horrible for an hour or two. When we escaped the smoke, we camped (kamped as they say there (and at all other KOAs)) at a KOA in stratsburg Colorado. later today we will arrive in Kansas(hopefully).
note: this post is from 06/11/2012, I accidently clicked save to draft instead of publish so it is late to appear. Last night we slept in our trailer for the first time(I slept well). This morning we drove on from Elko through Salt Lake City to Lyman Wyoming. Tonight we are staying in a KOA campground. They have a swimming pool where I swam. Unfortunately by the time we finished swimming the restaurant had closed so I didn't get dinner :( We officially began our journey. Yesterday we left at 2:00 PM (I forgot to post then)and arrived at elko at 10:00 PM we successfully found an RV park and slept in our trailer for the first time. Today our first stop is Salt Lake City. So far nothing too exciting has happened.
